DESCRIPTION:The FACTCHECK project – Knowledge is Power: Towards a Comprehen
	sive Approach to\nDiminish Fake News Spread and Susceptibility (LCF/PR/SR2
	4/57010027) – funded by\nthe “la Caixa” Foundation under the Social Observ
	atory Research Call\n(2024–2026)\, represents the first large-scale resear
	ch effort in Portugal to\nexamine both susceptibility to and dissemination
	 of false information.\n\nThe project included a questionnaire administere
	d to a sample of 2\,500 people\nfrom the Portuguese population\, aiming to
	 identify the individual and contextual\nfactors that help explain why peo
	ple believe in\, engage with\, and share false\ninformation.\n\nBy produci
	ng evidence on the social\, cognitive\, and contextual dimensions of\ndisi
	nformation\, FACTCHECK seeks to inform public policies and contribute to m
	ore\neffective strategies to reduce vulnerability to false information. Th
	e main\nfindings of the project will be presented and discussed at this fi
	nal\nconference.\n\nThe program will include keynote lectures\, oral commu
	nications from the\nFACTCHECK team\, parallel sessions\, and a poster sess
	ion. The conference will\nalso include roundtables addressing the current 
	diagnosis of disinformation and\npossible responses in the fields of regul
	ation\, prevention\, media literacy\,\nfact-checking and platform governan
	ce.  \n\nThe FACTCHECK Final Conference invites submissions addressing mis
	information\,\ndisinformation\, fake news\, susceptibility\, dissemination
	\, political\ndisinformation\, impacts\, evidence-based responses\, preven
	tion\, emerging\ntechnologies and regulation.
