Mutual Aid in the West Bank, Palestine

On the 5th of September, Friday, at 18h30, we'll be organising a benefit event at Disgraça with Abeer Alkhateeb, Palestinian from Bir Nabala who's in Portugal on an international solidarity trip. First, we'll have a conversation with the her about mutual aid in the West Bank, to learn from her experience resisting the zionist colonial project. Then, we'll have a dinner with Palestinian inspired food (w/ donation). And finally, a concert from Filipe Sambado (w/ donation). See you there!

Abeer Alkhateeb, from Bir Nabala, Palestine, dedicates her life to collective organisation throughout the West Bank. From delivering school supplies to Bedouin communities, to running across the Masafer Yatta desert to install solar panels so that villages can have energy, to rebuilding schools and shelters destroyed by the Zionist army with her own hands, to planting olive, cherry, and many other trees so that families in regions swallowed up by settlements can have sustenance that allows them to resist, to protecting with her own body those who are the target of constant attacks by settlers, among many other actions. Abeer Alkhateeb is part of the Popular Struggle Coordination Committee, one of the most relevant mutual support collectives in Palestine, with a presence throughout the West Bank. Between 29 August and 7 September, she will be in Portugal on an international solidarity trip organised by the Coletivo pela Libertação da Palestina, with the aim of sharing her experience and that of her comrades in resisting the Zionist occupation of Palestine on a daily basis for decades.
