Isn’t it time to put an end to megacorporations controlling and tracking our digital lives?
Many of us are increasingly concerned about our computers and phones being used against us, as instruments of control or surveillance. But we’d like to show that that’s not all there is! These technologies can also be powerful tools for personal and collective liberation! This Friday at 3pm, we invite you to join our decentralized cyber-skill-share workshop, to work out your tech problems and share resources on community-led open source technologies!
We’ll be happy to share skills and knowledge on subjects such as:
Fixing problems in Windows computers
Recovering lost data
Switching from Windows to Linux
De-Googling Android phones
Finding and using Open Source alternatives to proprietary, for-profit programs
Using cybersecurity practices for better privacy! (against state and corporate surveillance)
Accessing open media libraries
Using Disgraça’s printers!
Feel free to let us know beforehand if you need help with another issue, or just show up with your computers and phones and let’s try to work it out together!
The workshop is part of Disgraça’s “Smash the Estate” festival happening on 28-31st of March, which will launch the crowdfunding campaign to buy Disgraça’s spaces, to ensure longevity for the collectives participating in the community!
Disgraça is an anarchist social center and horizontally-organised association aimed at fostering a safe, collaborative environment for radical political action. You can visit us at Rua Penha de França, 217B.
